CHP Board of Directors

The three fundamental responsibilities of a non-profit board are:

  1. Duty of Care- Take care of the non-profit by ensuring prudent use of all assets and provide oversight for all activities that advance the nonprofit’s sustainability.

  2. Duty of loyalty: Make decisions in the best interest of the non-profit corporation.

  3. Duty of obedience:  Ensure that the non-profit obeys applicable laws and acts in accordance with ethical practice

 

Director

Hilda Perez

Hilda Perez was the President of CHP from 2013-2018. She is a graduate of Loyola University in Chicago with a BS in Criminal Justice. She also has a diploma from Purdue University’s Entrepreneurship Center.  Hilda has been in the financial and insurance industry for over 21 years.  Hilda owns a brokerage insurance agency in Aurora with the ability to serve customers in 42 states.  Hilda has experience in the field of home ownership, investment properties and real estate management. Hilda has served on several boards of directors including; NAIFA, the Business Advisory Board for the City of Aurora, CO Women’s Chamber of Commerce as President of the DTC leads group, and several other organizations

Director

Dave Lewis

Dave Lewis was the secretary of CHP from 2013-2018. Dave has been a key member of the SA Miro Inc.'s structural engineer staff since 1981.  His recent endeavors have focused on transit-oriented communities, with quality of life for residents as areas of focus. A long-time resident of Aurora, Dave served as 2004 Chair of the DIA Partnership, and on the RTD FasTracks Citizens Advisory Committee. He has a BS degree in Architectural Engineering from Colorado University. He studied Structural Engineering at Colorado State University and earned a MBA from there. He is registered as a professional engineer in the State of Colorado.

Secretary & Treasurer

Greg Shields

Greg Shields joined the CHP Board in 2015 and is the current Treasurer, and added the role of Secretary in 2019. Greg graduated with his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Colorado State University in 2014 with a major in marketing.  He has worked with FirstBank for five years, first as an intern and currently holds the title of Assistant Vice President in the Aurora market. He is currently an alumni liaison for the student organization at CSU, called the United Men of Color and has lived in Aurora, CO for over 20 years.

Anthony Codori

Anthony Codori has 30 years of Real Estate Banking experience including Credit, Loan, Construction, and Portfolio Administration.  He also has extensive experience with loan closings, workout of distressed loans and eventual sale of assets.  He has served on the Community Housing Partner's Board in various capacities since 2007.  He has a BS in finance from the State University of New York in Buffalo.

President

Jane Harrington

Jane Harrington joined the Board in 2014 and was elected President in 2019. Jane has worked in the affordable housing business in Colorado since 1976.  During this time she has worked for the City of Arvada, the Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA), Summit Combined Housing Authority, Mercy Housing Colorado and Colorado Community Land Trust.  Since 2002, her main focus has been in the development, financing and administration of affordable for-sale housing. Jane has worked with appreciation limited for sale programs such as a limited equity cooperative, condominiums on leased land, various resort community deed restrictions, community land trust; employer assisted housing programs and the Denver Inclusionary Housing Ordinance. Jane has a BS in Family Environment with a specialty in Family Housing from Iowa State University. 

Vice-President

Ashley Karros

Ashley Karros joined the Board in May of 2017 as a Director and was elected Vice-President in 2019.  Ashley is the Director of Business Development for Core Contractors Roofing Systems. Previously, she was an account executive with ServiceMaster DSI, a restoration/insurance industry that helps households in times of crisis, such as floods and fires.  She earned a BS in Communications from New York University.  Ashley is involved with the Aurora Chamber of Commerce, West Chamber of Commerce, Aurora Public Schools, and the local real estate association.  Ashley is passionate about helping those in need and connecting people to available programs.
